Clothes swap in Berlin

In November 2025, a series of clothing swap meetings took place at the AWO Pavilion at Hofackerzeile 1B in Berlin. This social project combined the ecological idea of ​​reusing clothing with an open and warm exchange. For three days, participants brought clean and well-maintained garments to give them a second life, discover new favorite looks, and spend time together in a friendly atmosphere over coffee and tea.
Forty-three people participated in the event, and dozens of items of clothing found new owners free of charge. But this project was much more than just a clothing swap. It became a place for meeting, getting to know one another, and mutual support. The participants talked about conscious consumption, upcycling principles, and the importance of using things sustainably, but the most valuable aspect remained the human connection.
For many migrant women, these meetings became a place where they could feel part of a community, share stories, find support, and forge new friendships. The atmosphere of the event was characterized by warmth, openness, and trust. We thank everyone who participated, brought clothing, and created this special atmosphere. This experience has proven once again that even small initiatives can unite people and bring about positive changes in society.
